After years of work and preparation, my book Angel from the Rust has finally launched. It’s now on Amazon, out in the world for all to read.
To celebrate, my interns (who are some of my students) surprised me with a cake at the beginning of the school day. The cake even had my publishing logo!
Going to work on launch day was a good thing. Otherwise I would have spent the whole day checking stats and sales, seeing how the book was faring. But even then, I used every free moment between classes to checked the numbers.
The day I wrote this post (the day after launch), Angel from the Rust was #12 on Amazon’s bestsellers in action and adventure fantasy. That put my book up there with some of Brandon Sanderson’s works! I know this position is fleeting, but I’ll celebrate the little things.
Now that the book has launched, it’s tempting to go back to the KDP dashboard and check on how it’s doing. But I can’t just sit on my laurels. Time to move forward.
Time to get back to writing the next book…
